Save time auditing your competition
Conduct a competitive audit for UX before you start designing is important to create a user experience of great level. There are many tasks that can make the user experience optimal, but conducting a structured analysis of your competition saves time, improves the quality of the user experience on your website, and allows you to differentiate yourself.
Conducting audits of market leaders is very useful. Consider all the time that leaders in your industry niche have already spent studying their market, their users, and their design. It’s no coincidence they are industry leaders. Use all that condensed knowledge to highlight your website.
Define the objective
To properly conduct a competitive audit for UX, you must first be clear about what you want to get from analyzing your competition. Based on the objective, decide which variables you are going to compare. In general, it is good to have goals such as identifying the functionalities they include, how they structure information, and what product information they must include; however, these objectives vary in each specific case. I also recommend including information about the competition, such as their size, location, and price.
Make a list by collecting websites from Google searches related to your niche and placing the top searches in a table. The list can vary in size depending on the time and scale of the project you have, but I recommend collecting at least three different sites from direct competitors.

Finally, summarizing the most common problems, the best elements of your competition, and detailing how your site can differentiate itself will make your site better than the competition by fixing the components that are wrong and imitating what is right.
Familiarizing yourself with industry trends will allow you to design a website that stands out from the competition, saving time, money, and energy. This method is based on the Google UX Design Professional certificate.
